The Elgin and Winter Garden Theatre Centre (EWG) is owned and operated by the Ontario Heritage Trust. It is a century-old theatre and National Historic Site. It is also the last operating vaudeville-era double-decker theatre in the world.
Accessibility: Accessible seating is located in the orchestra levels only of both the Elgin and the Winter Garden Theatres. Patrons who have special requirements may wish to call in advance (416-314-2872) to notify our staff of your needs. Physically challenged patrons should be aware that the location of mezzanine and balcony seating requires the climbing of stairs.
Hearing enhancement system/recording devices:
The Elgin and Winter Garden Theatre Centre is equipped with an infrared hearing enhancement system. This service is available at Concessions in the main lobby. For this service, patrons are required to leave a piece of identification with Theatre Centre staff. Your identification will be returned to you on return of the hearing device. The use of cameras, recording equipment, radios or any playback device is not permitted in the theatres. Patrons are asked to ensure that watch alarms and/or cellphones are turned off during the performance.
First aid: The Elgin and Winter Garden Theatre Centre is equipped with an automated external defibrillator (AED) and oxygen tanks. Staff is trained in first aid.
