Jazz Ambassadors of the United States Army Field Band

The Jazz Ambassadors is the United States Army's premier touring big band. This 19-member ensemble, formed in 1969, has received great acclaim both at home and abroad performing America's original art form, jazz.
Concerts by the Jazz Ambassadors are designed to entertain all types of audiences. Custom compositions and arrangements highlight the group's creative talent and gifted soloists. Their diverse repertoire includes big band swing, bebop, Latin, contemporary jazz, standards, popular tunes, Dixieland,
and patriotic selections.

GTA Big Band

Celebrating its seventeenth anniversary in 2013, the GTA Swing Band continues to delight audiences with its high-energy performances of popular tunes from the swing era. Specializing in the music of Glenn Miller, Count Basie and Duke Ellington among others, the band has garnered a reputation for lively, fun-filled performances that leave crowds cheering for more.

Hilario Duran And His Latin Jazz Big Band

Hilario Durán is ranked among the greats, as one of the most important contemporary Cuban pianists and arrangers today. In 2005, Hilario formed his explosive Big Band Orchestra with top Canadian and Cuban musicians in Toronto. The album, “From The Heart”, featuring Paquito D’Rivera, was nominated for a Grammy in 2007, and won a Contemporary Jazz Album of the Year Juno Award.

Jim Galloway, recently retired founding Artistic Director of the TD Toronto Jazz Festival makes a special appearance with s a group of musical friends who believe in the old adage – “It Don’t Mean A Thing If It Ain’t Got That Swing”. Toes will tap.
