Liona Boyd

Liona Boyd, known as "The First Lady of the Guitar" has introduced millions around the world to the art of classical guitar through her concerts, television specials, music videos and twenty-eight recordings, many of which have gone Gold and Platinum. She has given concerts all around the globe and has played for dozens of world leaders including the British Royal Family and the US President.

Liona has been a special guest on numerous television shows including The Tonight Show, Today Show, the Boston Pops, and her YouTube views now total over four million. She has been given five Juno awards, five honorary degrees, The Order of Canada, Order of Ontario, and was inducted into the Guitar Player “Gallery of Greats” for classical guitar. Alongside her passionate dedication to music Liona has been involved with many charitable causes. A few years ago Liona added singing and songwriting to her guitar playing and returned to live in Toronto after twenty years of living in the USA. She now tours with her accompanist Andrew Dolson, a talented young guitarist and singer from Waterloo, Ontario. In September 2017 her former autobiography. “In My Own Key” as well as her latest autobiography, “No Remedy For Love” was published by Dundurn Press, and a new CD of the same title released by Universal Music.
