Hector Quartet is a Toronto-based collective featuring Chris Gale, Ted Quinlan, Jeff McLeod and Chris Wallace. Highlighting compositions from all four members of the group, Hector is sure to provide a soulful and energetic performance.
Chris Gale is a nationally recognized saxophonist, composer and producer. Highlights include performances with Randy Brecker, Ron Sexsmith, Michael Kaeshammer, Colin James, Blue Rodeo, Oliver Jones, Brandi Disterheft and Johnny Reid.
Ted Quinlan has performed with Chet Baker, Freddie Hubbard, Jimmy Smith, Joey DeFrancesco, Michael Brecker, Dave Holland, Maria Schneider and Dave Liebman. He also has three recordings to his credit: "As If" (1998), “Streetscape” (2009) and “Around the Bend” (2010).
As an active member of the Canadian music scene, Jeff Mcleod has performed with Serena Ryder, the Drifters and Bo Didley. His first release, “Double Entendre”, was nominated for Jazz Album of the Year at the Western Canadian Music Awards (2012).
A central figure in the Scottish jazz community from 2002 to 2014, Chris Wallace released “Looking Glass” (2010) and “Identity” (2014). Since relocating to Toronto, Chris has performed with Nathan Hiltz, Alison Young, June Garber and Laura Hubert. His quartet, Many Names, has one release to it’s credit titled “Somewhere Sacred” (2017).
