A young talent from Calgary, Caity Gyorgy has been making a name for herself on Canada’s festival and talent-show circuits. She has an incredibly refined voice for her age, counting Ella Fitzgerald, Sarah Vaughan, Esperanza Spalding and Cécile McLorin Salvant among her idols. But what really sets her apart is her unparalleled vocal improvisations.
The Caity Gyorgy Quintet is a group of Humber College Music Degree students who love to play and pay homage to the great jazz musicians and composers of the past, while still maintaining a crisp modern sound that resonates with the music scene today. The group prides itself on creating music that has strong roots and tight arrangements.
